After I had my son, I couldn't wait to feel like me and get back to the gym. After my six week appointment, I called my friend and trainer and got back to working out. I was on a mission to not buy new work clothes when I went back. I saw weight coming off and the workouts made me feel like me again, however, I had this belly that looked like I was about 4 months pregnant. I asked my friend and trainer after a workout what was going on. She casually mentioned that I may have diastasis recti (DR) and that I needed to "work on my breathing." I went home from that workout and looked up DR on the computer. I was confused, frustrated, hopeless and scared. I felt like I was broken. I asked some friends and was connected with a MUTU Pro who became my friend and mentor. I did the 12-week course and something in me clicked. Although I have been a teacher for 14 years, I decided to get my personal training certification and help women who were like me so that they didn't make the same mistakes I had. Shortly after obtaining my CPT, I became a certified MUTU Pro. I am currently working on finishing my certification for pregnancy and postpartum athleticism. My passion is helping women before, during and after baby. I don't want to tell women what they "can't" do, but to help them get back to doing what they love in a healthy and safe way.
