I offer gentle and accessible trauma-sensitive hatha yoga to individuals, couples, and small groups in person in Kingston, Ontario and online across Canada and the U.S.A. A trauma-sensitive approach to yoga provides an accepting and non-judgemental space that allows a person to choose how they practice. Private yoga sessions for pelvic wellness concentrate on enhancing your pelvic muscle function through breath work, gentle movement, mindfulness, and education. I will work with you to customize the sessions according to your individual needs, preferences and previous yoga experience. Depending on your preferences and goals, we may focus on relaxation, stretching, strengthening and/or coordination of pelvic muscles. When stress and/or trauma play a role in pelvic health symptoms, it can be very therapeutic to calm and restore the nervous system. Intake includes a self-assessment of the pelvic muscles to identify issues for follow up by a healthcare provider. Privacy and discretion are assured. I have personally struggled with my own pelvic health issues. I have used yoga, learning, and lifestyle modifications to maintain and enhance the improvements that I achieved with physiotherapy.
