Dr. Melissa Harkness, PT, RN
About
Melissa graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was introduced to pelvic floor physical therapy and took a class to see what it was all about. She instantly fell in love and knew this was her calling and not just a job for her! Since then, Melissa has completed the coursework for pelvic therapy practitioner through Herman and Wallace Institute and has been treating patients since 2006. Melissa believes in a whole person approach. She listens to understand how each person is feeling, and what has led them to physical therapy. It is typically a long and frustrating journey for those suffering with pelvic floor dysfunction! Empathy, validation, and encouragement are extremely important in her plan of care. Spending one-on-one time is a priority to her to truly gain the best clinical picture and understanding the issue. Faith, family and friends are her greatest joy in her life! “My relationship with God and the people He has placed in my life is where I focus my time and attention. I am grateful to be married to the love of my life and have four amazing children! Our family is constantly moving with church involvement, sports, clubs, and activities. We are blessed!”
