About

I am an Orthopedic and Pelvic Health Physical Therapist in San Francisco, CA currently serving the San Francisco and Marin areas. In my practice Body Be Good; I offer online sessions for all people with orthopedic and pelvic floor conditions as well as in-home concierge postpartum visits. I love connecting with people, hearing their story and being a part of their healing journey. I feel honored to be allowed to be present during this often delicate time, holding space for them while they develop a new relationship with their body and mind. My treatment approach is one that seeks to normalize, is equitable, and comforting with a dash of humor. I enjoy collaborating with other health care providers in a multidisciplinary team that treats the person as a whole. I am excited to be a part of a movement that brings pelvic health to the forefront of health care in an effort to educate and improve access to these services for all.

My physiotherapist, Dr Alexis Anderson was superb, and over time helped my condition practically disappear. I am basically writing to commend the level of professionalism, service, support, treatment and care I received from Alexis throughout. It was thanks to Dr Anderson’s advice and treatment that I was able to recover from a two year long daily excruciating pain to get my life back to normal without undergoing surgery. Dr Anderson’s professional service is testament to my recovery.
While all health professionals were guiding me to surgery Dr Anderson was training me to treat the underlying problem through therapy, Yoga, diet and mental and physical health.
I sincerely was and am grateful.

I can’t say enough how much I appreciate her dedication to this specific branch of physical therapy and the excellent service she provides. I had an upcoming work conference in the bay area and reached out to Alexis via email about some chronic pelvic pain I had been experiencing the last few years. After a brief phone consult we scheduled an in-person evaluation during my stay in San Francisco. In that one appointment, she completed an in-depth and thorough exam and provided me with helpful tips to bring back home with me to manage and self treat these particular symptoms. Alexis established a great rapport with her warm and friendly personality and made me feel relaxed and at ease during our entire session. I felt very comfortable with her as she explored and educated me about the muscles and nerves in this sensitive and intimate area of the body. I left the appointment with a newfound knowledge of how the muscles and nerves in the pelvic floor work together and the reassurance that some simple and conservative techniques such as breathing and muscle exercises can help with many of the issues I had been experiencing down there. I highly recommend her and encourage all guys with any pelvic floor symptoms to stop ignoring them and go see her!

I was visiting the Bay Area for a work conference and contacted Alexis about my pelvic floor issues and symptoms. I was happy that she was able to see me in person. I had been ignoring these symptoms for the past few years and Alexis did a wonderful job educating and explaining the role the pelvic floor muscles play in many of the issues I had been experiencing. She was very thorough in her exam and with it being such a sensitive area had a great rapport and immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. She showed and demonstrated some helpful techniques for self treatment when I go back home and gave me reassurance that these symptoms can definitely be improved upon through a conservative approach. I encourage all guys out there dealing with pelvic floor issues to go see her!

Alexis is AMAZING. I am sadly leaving the Bay Area, and she is one of the people I will miss the most. I have seen her for the last few years for chronic pelvic pain, and she has been tremendously helpful. One thing I appreciate about Alexis vs some other PTs I have seen over the years is that she really supports and treats you as a whole person. She has helped me to address other issues/imbalances with my body that contribute to my pain. She’s also very communicative and really wants you to understand your body. I like getting an education on which nerves and muscles are causing issues, etc.

Anyway, if you’re in the SF area and dealing with chronic pain, do yourself a favor and book with Alexis!
